I was really fortunate to be invited to the UK Premiere of Mobland, starring Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, at the Odeon Leicester Square in London. It was a Big Deal.
The stars were there, huge red-carpet stuff, very exciting. After working from home all day, wearing my husband’s joggers and hoodie because it’s freezing, I scrubbed up, putting on one of my favourite outfits because it’s comfy and looks nice.
It was scary but also kind of fun to stand in front of banks of photographers. What made it less scary was being the least important person there, so no pressure to ‘wow’.
When you’re standing there, feeling everything from self-conscious and nervous, to slight hysteria at how insane it all is, all you hope for is that you don’t fall over, and the photos look ok.
I was sent the final resulting photo today by the lovely team at Concorde Media who invited me. I couldn’t stop laughing. For all the effort, I think the word at the bottom of the pic summed it up well: ‘BLAND’. Must do better, maybe wash my hair next time.
Btw, the first episode, which we watched last night with the hundreds of glammed-up celebrities in the cinema, was anything but bland. If you like Guy Ritchie gangster stuff, you’ll love it. Tom Hardy, Joanne Froggatt and Anson Boon really stood out in this first episode, and I know it’ll grow.
Mobland is out now on Paramount+
You look lovely 😍
